The city of Vienna is host to the 2015 key event on social innovation “Pathways to Social Change”.
On 18-19 November, Social innovators, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and researchers will gather from around the world. The aim is to share and learn from experiences and concepts of social innovation and its role in fostering social and sustainable change.
On the first day the focus is on the state-of-the-art in social innovation research. Transition Academy’s Flor Avelino and Julia Wittmayer will give the keynote on “Transformative Social Innovation: Empirical & Theoretical Insights”. Participants can take part in interactive sessions ranging from the life cycles of social innovations to the value of scaling up.
Throughout the second day, participants explore practical challenges in social innovation through sessions and excursions. The sessions include a discussion of business models, an introduction to systemic play, a training on facilitation skills and a session on the Central and Eastern European features of social innovation.
